PROFESSIONAL RESPONSIBILITY
The Palmetto Paralegal Association has adopted the ABA Code of Professional Responsibility and adheres to the Affirmation of Professional Responsibility of the National Federation of Paralegal Associations, and the Model Code of Ethics and Professional Responsibility.
NFPA and NATIONAL AFFILIATION
PPA and it members are members of NFPA, a professional association consisting primarily of state and local paralegal associations and their members. Membership in NFPA provides a strong vehicle for presenting paralegal interests on a national level.
NFPA provides various services for its members, including the National Paralegal Reporter, the NFPA quarterly magazine.
In addition, PPA works closely with other paralegal organizations, the bar association and educational and consumer organizations to keep abreast of local and national issues affecting the paralegal profession.

PPA presents a wide variety of benefits and services to its members. Some of these are:
- CONTlNUING LEGAL EDUCATION
PPA is committed to sponsoring high quality continuing education seminars that address various aspects of the law and career development. Monthly luncheon programs offer members a convenient way to stay current with the new developments in the law and issues confronting the paralegal profession.
- NEWSLETTER
PPA quarterly newsletter, In Brief, contains articles of interest on local, state and national issues, as well as reports from committees, job listings, and an official Calendar of Events.
- SURVEY
Periodically PPA prepares a comprehensive statewide survey of paralegal compensation and responsibilities, provided to all members and available for sale to non-members.
- EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES
Job listings are published in the newsletter, at monthly meetings and by special mailouts.
- MEMBERSHIP DIRECTORY
PPA publishes a directory of members as a source for networking with colleagues.
- PRO BONO SERVICES
To coordinate, provide and promote Pro Bono activities in which volunteers of PPA can assist lawyers and/or other legal service providers and promote the legal profession.
