The Palmetto Paralegal Association was formed in 1988 under the name of Columbia Legal Assistant Association. It currently has approximately 200 members, including students enrolled in area paralegal programs. Most members are employed by law firms, government agencies and private businesses. The Palmetto Paralegal Association's mission and goals are to encourage professional growth through educational and ethical guidelines, while providing a forum of communication and a network of support for its members.
